Supply Chain Effectiveness

NALI's supply chain effectiveness efforts are led by Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC).  CTC's capabilities, brought to bear for NALI and an array of other programs, produce innovative results for the application of advanced technologies that address multiple logistics and supply chain challenges.

Specific solution-driven capabilities designed to optimize supply chain efficiency include:

Military Readiness and Asset Visibility

CTC and its NALI consortium partners understand the complexity of supply chain operations and the challenges faced daily by logisticians in optimizing asset management and visibility for military readiness.  Asset visibility efforts spearheaded by NALI through CTC have resulted in the development of a visualization support tool prototype that will enable Air Force supply chain analysts to view the supply chain from end to end more quickly and accurately identify potential problems

CTC has already delivered pratical, effective decision support tools across the Department of Defense (DoD) that enhance the processes, technology and equipment used in military operations, the in-transit supply chain for deployed personnel, and for delivering direct warfighter support at the USMC "last tactical mile."  CTC developed the Transportation Capacity Planning Tool (TCPT) in response to needs identified during Operation Iraqi Freedom to provide detailed, Web-enabled processes and modeling tools for assessing transportation planning.  CTC is also addressing the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Logistics Command Supply Chain Management Center (SCMC) needs in organizing, integrating, and managing worldwide supply chain activities for principle end items through another application, the Supply Chain Operational Performance Enabler (SCOPE).  Both SCOPE and the TCPT emphasize CTC's keen understanding of the optimal supply chain performance required to maintain top-level readiness and asset visibility for the military.

Advanced Decision Support

CTC technology experts leading the NALI supply chain enhancement efforts are currently developing a Web-enabled decision support tool to provide the United States Air Force (USAF) with access to real-time, relevent supply chain information that will allow decision makers across the Air Force supply chain to implement immediate actions to improve system efficiency and effectiveness in meeting warfighter needs.  CTC's experitse in decision support tool development has contributed to diverse logistics modernization efforts across the services.  Tools and applications developed are designed to enhance the abilities of military personnel, business processes, and the technologies that support our country.  Two representative tools recently developedfor the USMC, similar in functionality to the USAF supply chain tool, include the Logistics Modernization Collaborative Worksite (LMCW), a collaborative group of Web-based team sites that enable the capture of innovative concepts for future development of advanced military decision support tools, and the Marine Corps Equipment Readiness Information Tool (MERIT), a tool used to integrate legacy system data from multiple areas with a graphic display of critical equipment readiness and maintenence information.

Manufacturing Development and Resource Programming

Obsolescence challenges across the DoD contiue to escalate as the size of the manufacturing base that meets the manufacturing needs for small and hard-to-procure parts continues to diminish.  NALI investigative and developmental efforts are targeted toward the development of collaborative, Web-based environments that link manufacaturers with the USAF personnel tracking critical supply chain shortages.

CTC has an established reputation for the design and implmentation of innovative training and resource initiatives with partners across the country that enable small manufacturers to enhance their skill base and capabilities to assure a robust supply chain for the DoD.  From the design and implementation of advanced manufacturing training for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to database development that catalogues diminishing material resources for the Services to increasing small manufacturing capability in suppport of critical DoD needs, CTC, through the NALI consortium, is addressing manufacturing needs and resource demand rapidly and effectively in support of our nation's military personnel.
